What We Bring...

A couple of you have already been on here since last night and given some initial thoughts as to what/how we could bring to donate to the ministries we're partnering with. I thought that it might be good to have a centralized place for those converstations to take place. And this is it. So I'll copy and past the comments that have already been left that apply to this, and if you have thoughts/ideas/suggestions, just add yours to this post. We'll continue our other posts to be about the various chapters. Had a great time hanging out with everyone last night...see you around!

Taylor I liked your idea on the blankets and stuff like that. I was thinking (And I know that everyone is really busy) but if we went through things that are still in really good condition that we ourselves have and take those things we could probably come up with a lot of stuff. I know that in my closet I have a tone of stuff that is still in good condition that I don't use anymore. Also if they need scarves I can make a couple of those maybe before we go but since it is summer when we go I don't know if they will really need scarves. Well people comment me back and tell me what ya think.

on another note.. the thing with bringing blankets and clothes for the shelter with our extra suicases. Joel is right, its only 1 week so we can live without our hair dryers and straightners (boys i know its tuff but try to resist) i was thinkin we could bring in all of our extra suitcases and the stuff that we can bring for them and try to cram as much stuff into one suitcase as possible. like repack evrything and put someone elses stuff in the empty spaces and then try to fill whatever suitecase are empty at the and and kind-of accumulat stuff over the months b4 the trip, idk its just an idea.

I think that bringing the extra blankets and stuff is a great idea. I know if i looked in my house i could probably find lots of stuff to bring in, i think everyone could. I think if we all brought just a few things, between all of us we could get quite a bit of stuff. Also i was thinking that we all probably have at least one bible at our house that we don't use anymore, i know that i do. maybe if we all brought one in, or even bought one, there would be plenty of people to give them to.
Just a thought,

i really like the idea about the Bibles too..even though not everyone that we may want to give one too would be open to it, but its always worth the extra effort. also if we can try and raise just a bit of money i know that dollar general sells blankets and toys really really cheap.

Yeah Craigs right. We all should have at least one Bible around somewhere that we dont need, so we should look for those.

I also liked the Bible idea. I think that i might have a couple ones that we don't really use any more.

I'm going to check in & see what some of the ministries could use specifically. I'll bring the info to our next meeting on Sunday. Good ideas...keep 'em coming!

I think that the bibles are a great idea. (Craigs probably getting tired of hearing it, but its true.) i know that I have at least 1 that i dont use anymore. I think that the blanket idea would work well too. I will check around my house and see what i have that i dont need.

thinking about sleeping outside during training I think anything warm (old cloths and blankets) are a good idea. bibles are good too, but most of us are Christians and many of us don't read our bibles so don't be suprised if they don't.
